The Criminal Jury Instructions Subcommittee, part of the Statewide Criminal Rules Committee of Nevada Supreme Court has published a new publication with criminal jury instructions templates. The State Bar of Nevada offers a free version of the Nevada Pattern Criminal Jury instructions.
Nevada Pattern Criminal Jury Instructions, a product of many years’ work, has been developed for the use of attorneys in the state. The book contains over 500 pages of templates to be used in criminal jury trials.
These pattern jury instructions will help a jury understand the contours and elements of criminal law. The instructions are intended to teach a jury the elements of a crime and contours of criminal law that a juror will apply to the facts. The subcommittee wrote and edited the instructions objectively, with an emphasis on being as neutral as possible,” said Second Judicial District Court judge Scott Freeman, member of the Commission on Statewide Rules of Criminal Procedure, chair of Nevada Criminal Jury Instructions Subcommittee.
