TALLAHASSEE FL–The Florida Bar has launched Counsel to Counsel, a mentoring program that pairs new lawyers with more experienced attorneys. The Florida Bar’s Counsel to Counsel program will pair lawyers using cutting-edge matching technology and the MentorcliQ software.

The Annual Florida Bar Convention will take place in Boca Raton from June 21-24. The curriculum will begin in September after the matches are made.

The nine-month Counsel to Counsel program begins in September and includes four milestones as well as a requirement for practical experience to guide mentors to mentees. After attorneys sign up, the program asks them to fill out a short survey. The program will then provide ratings on compatibility between the mentor and mentee. The mentor or mentee then selects their top three choices, and the software determines the final match.

Potential mentees are Florida lawyers who have less than three year’s experience. They must also be unemployed or working in a small firm of three or fewer people. Mentors must be Florida lawyers who have five years or more of experience.
