INDIANAPOLIS (IN)–Barnes & Thornburg announced that Andrew J. Detherage has been named managing partner. He took office Nov. 9. Robert T. Grand assumed this role in 2014. Detherage will resume his practice within the firm’s Government Service and Finance groups. Last year, the succession plan was announced.
Detherage has served on the firm’s Management Committee for over 20 years and takes the helm during a crucial moment in the firm’s growth trajectory. He played a key role in the firm’s continued national expansion, including the opening of new offices in New York, Boston. Philadelphia, New Jersey. Raleigh. Ann Arbor. Salt Lake City.
Detherage is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department. He has been with Barnes & Thornburg since 1990, when he began his legal career. He was named partner in 1999. As Barnes & Thornburg grew, he was a key part of its strategic growth. He added depth to many practices including Life Sciences, Healthcare, Private Funds and Asset Management and White Collar Compliance and Investigations. The firm also has thriving intellectual property and litigation and M&A.
