Governor Steve Sisolak, November 21, 2022, announced that Patricia Lee was to be appointed to the Nevada Supreme Court Seat F.
Lee is a partner in Hutchison and Steffen where she has been working since 2002. She joined Hutchison and Steffen in 2009 as a partner. Her primary focus is on complex commercial litigation. She also practices in the areas of trademark, family, appellate, collections, and represents pro bono clients through Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. She is the partner and runs the summer internship program. She also heads the pro bono program and supervises and trains associates. Lee was born to an African-American military father, and a native Korean mom in Korea. She is the first African American woman to be elected to the highest court of the state and the first Asian-American woman to do so.
This appointment replaces Justice Abbi Silver who retired on September 29, 2022 after almost four years of service on the Nevada Supreme Court. Sisolak selected Lee from three recommendations by the Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection. Lee, Hon. Scott Freeman and Hon. Tierra Jones. Lee will continue to serve the remainder of Seat F’s term, which expires January 6, 2025.
Sisolak stated, “I am proud to appoint Patricia as the Nevada Supreme Court.” “The depth and breadth of her skillset, as well as her professional and personal experience make her an extraordinary addition to the state’s highest court. The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection helped me bring three amazing applicants to my Office. This was a difficult decision.
Lee received a bachelor’s degree at University of Southern California. She also graduated in 2002 with a law degree at George Washington University Law School. In the same year, she was also admitted to the Nevada bar. Lee is married to Ronnie Lee since 2006. They have two children.
