NAPERVILLE (IL)–Shawn Collins, of The Collins Law Firm, in Naperville (IL), has been selected as a 2023 Environmental MVP by Law 360 for his work in the Sterigenics lawsuit in Cook County. IL. Shawn was a member of the Plaintiffs Executive Committee for the In re Willowbrook Ethylene Oxide Litigation. This case resulted in a $408,000,000 settlement to more than 800 plaintiffs that had developed cancer from breathing carcinogenic ethylene dioxide at a Sterigenics plant in their locality. Shawn was also co-counsel in Kamuda v. Sterigenics et al., the first trial that took place. He helped secure Illinois’ biggest-ever single-plaintiff verdict of $363 million.
