The Nevada Supreme Court issued two orders on Dec. 22, 2023 approving the use of virtual advocacy technology in Nevada courts.
- AdKT 0613 Modifies Supreme Court Rules (SCR), Part IX-B, (A) Rules for Appearances by Telephonic Transmission Equipment in Civil and Family Court Proceedings Rule 4 as stated in Exhibit B,. This amendment is to bring cohesion between SCR and newly developed “Preamble Rules of Virtual Advocacy”, and “Presumptive Appears Case Type” lists that were created by the Commission. This amendment will take effect on Jan. 21, 2020.
- Adkat 0581 Adopting recommendations from the Commission for Studying Best Practices of Virtual Advocacy for Nevada’s Courts. These include the Preamble of Rules of Virtual Advocacy, Remote Virtual Hearing Procedures and the Presumptive Appointment Case Types of Civil Cases and Criminal Cases of District Courts.
