Steve Wolfson is a rare candidate. He is liked by both Republicans and Democrats. Although the incumbent Clark County district attorney, Wolfson, is a Democrat. Most people don’t know this because Wolfson’s name was on the Democratic primary ballot. Wolfson’s job performance is generally not viewed as partisan politics.

Wolfson was appointed Clark County District Attorney in 2012. He was previously a defense lawyer before joining the Las Vegas City Council. Wolfson resigned as a member of the city council in order to succeed David Rogers, the retiring DA. Wolfson was an extremely qualified candidate due to his previous stints at the United States Attorney’s Office and the county prosecutor’s office.

Wolfson rose to DA with the publication of Vegas Legal Magazine. Wolfson was featured on the cover of the publication’s first issue in 2014. This was during Wolfson’s 2014 campaign for office.

The Ongoing Problems for the DA’s Office

Wolfson spoke about public safety in the first Las Vegas Legal story written by Sabrina Siracusa. He shares that belief with Clark County residents.

span style=”color”: #000000 If you ask people what is on their minds (jobs, health, and all that), they will tell you that it’s safety walking from their car or home to their office. Wolfson stated at the time. They want to feel safe and there is so much gun violence in our society, I want to make a difference in Las Vegas. That is my project.

Wolfson is a strong advocate for keeping guns away from convicted domestic abusers. Nevada law prohibits domestic violence offenders from owning or possessing firearms. However, removing guns from domestic abusers who have been convicted of a crime of domestic violence is difficult. Wolfson stated that he believes we will reduce homicides if we can get rid of some guns.

Wolfson, the Clark County DA, is a strong supporter of Second Amendment. He believes that everyone should have the right to possess guns for self-defense.

Many of these issues, such as domestic violence, are ongoing battles. This fight doesn’t end when the DA is reelected or a new DA is elected. These are ongoing challenges. These are chronic challenges.

Redemption

Wolfson believes people deserve second chances. This is evident in Wolfson’s involvement in Hope for Prisoners, a rehabilitation program. Former inmate Jon Ponder runs the program. It was first made public when President Donald Trump visited Las Vegas in 2017. The Hope for Prisoners graduation ceremony was attended by President Trump, who gave Ponder a Presidential Pardon for his community service.

Wolfson backs the program. He stated in an earlier Vegas Legal article that “they really don’t have the resources to support them.” They don’t have the resources span>

Hope for Prisoners assists former prisoners to adjust to the outside world. In the inaugural Vegas Legal issue, the district attorney stated that “Okay, you did something wrong, you made an error, and you paid your penalty to society.” Let’s succeed out there .”

Steve Wolfson married Jackie Glass, a former Clark County District Judge. She also has her own TV show, Swift Justice with Jackie Glass. Glass is also known for being the judge who sent O.J. Simpson was sent to prison by Glass.

Wolfson defeated Democratic primary opponent Ozzie Fumo in June. In November’s general election, Tim Treffinger will be facing Wolfson.
