BATON ROUGE (LA)–Brent Hicks joined Baker Donelson’s ranks as a shareholder of the Firm’s Construction Group, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His practice focuses on construction litigation, commercial litigation and government contracting.

More than 20 years experience has been gained in representing subcontractors, owners, engineers, architects, insurers, designers, and other professionals in all areas of construction law. He can also assist clients in all phases of construction projects including the preparation and negotiation of contracts as well as the resolution or avoidance of disputes.

His extensive litigation experience is concentrated in industrial and commercial construction disputes. This includes disruption, acceleration and claims for design defects.

He acts as counsel for clients in government contracting disputes involving federal, state and local construction projects. Hicks has also been counsel to many government agencies, including the State of Louisiana as well as its retirement systems and agencies.
