Uniao Quimica was founded in 1936 and is one of Brazil’s most reputable pharmaceutical companies. The IFC loan will be used for Uniao Quimica to expand its production capacity, improve vaccine infrastructure and increase energy efficiency. This will be accomplished by redirecting funds to modernize the company’s facilities and boosting its production capacity for medicines and vaccines. Uniao Quimica is aiming to become a member of the international vaccination system and provide immunisers for Latin American countries.
Partner Peter Hosinski, and Tianpu Zhang, an associate of Becker Glynn, led the Becker Glynn team. They dealt with, among other things, the drafting issues related to a loan in real dollars that could be repaid in dollar-equivalent amounts.
