FORT WORTH (TX)–Attorney Ty Stimpson was honored by the State Bar of Texas recently for his role as a year-long participant in LeadershipSBOT, a program that trains and recruits lawyers to hold leadership positions within the legal community.
Stimpson and 19 other attorneys who were selected as the 2022-2023 LeadershipSBOT class were recognized at the State Bar of Texas annual meeting in Austin on June 22, 2018. The State Bar of Texas recognizes leaders in Texas who are dedicated to serving their communities, professions and represent the diversity of Texas.
Stimpson stated, “It was an honor to be a part of the LeadershipSBOT Class 2022-2023.” I am grateful to have had the chance to work with colleagues who come from diverse practice areas, cultures, ethnicities, and geographical backgrounds. We were asked to explore what leaders are expected to do and how they can be most effective in their community and profession. “I look forward to the conversation and to connecting with new leaders for many years to come.”
Stimpson spent his entire year in Texas attending meetings and working with other students to develop a project of service that he then presented at the State Bar of Texas annual meeting.
The service project this year focused on engaging students from all over the state in various discussions, such as becoming first-generation lawyers and expanding the path to the legal profession. The SBOT Leadership class of 2022-2023 presented to 656 students across the state. This included 10 schools, eight school districts and two universities.
Stimpson stated that “sharing our knowledge and experiences with students who have many times never encountered or met a lawyer is always rewarding.” “I hope that our message about professionalism and dedication to helping others resonates and inspires the next generation.”
Stimpson, a highly respected trial lawyer, leads the Varghese Summersett Injury Law Group where he concentrates on complex and catastrophic injury cases. He is dedicated to bringing justice to victims who were wrongfully injured or died due the negligence of a person or company.
He is also passionate about his work outside of the courtroom. He is active in the local and legal community. He has served on many boards, task forces and commissions. He has also made significant contributions to North Texas. He received the Dr. Marion J. Brooks “Legend in Making” Award for Law earlier this month. This prestigious award honors civic leaders and community leaders in Tarrant County who are making a mark.
Benson Varghese is the managing partner at Varghese Sommersett. He said, “Ty’s passion for justice, and helping others shines through in his work both inside and outside of court.” “He goes beyond the call of duty for his clients, colleagues and community,” said Benson Varghese, managing partner at Varghese Summersett. He is the epitome a leader.”
