CHARLOTTE (NC)–Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is proud to announce that Courtney M. Achee has been elected chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals KnowledgeNet Charlotte Chapter for a two-year term.
KnowledgeNet Chapters of the IAPP bring together local privacy communities through education meetings and networking activities. Ms. Achee is the chair of Charlotte KnowledgeNet Chapter and will organize events, guide and engage with chapter members and serve as an advocate for IAPP Charlotte.
Ms. Achee belongs to Bradley’s Cybersecurity and Privacy and Banking and Financial Services practices groups and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US credential) through the IAPP. Ms. Achee assists clients with a variety of privacy compliance issues. She provides strategic advice on compliance obligations under federal statutes and regulation, state privacy and security laws, global privacy protections laws, and industry standards such as CCPA/CPRA and GDPR.
Ms. Achee’s practice focuses on the nuanced issues that can arise from consumer-facing privacy laws. This includes those in the financial, insurance and digital marketing spaces. Ms. Achee also assists clients in implementing compliance programs for direct marketing involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and its implementing regulations. Ms. Achee also provides data breach and incident response coaching to federally regulated banks under the Interagency Guidelines as well as the OCC’s Computer-Security Incident Notification Rule.
