BOSTON, MA — Morgan, Brown & Joy’s attorney Catherine Scott spoke on the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education program, “Proving Employment Retaliation & Discrimination: Issue-Spotting & Tracing Evidence,” November 16, 2023.
Scott and his fellow faculty members discussed key aspects of Title VII and G.L. discrimination and retaliation laws. The c.151B section and the types of pretexts to look out for. The speakers discussed strategies for proving claims and defenses, both at the agency-level at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination(MCAD) as well as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as court. Panelists also provided insights on how to preserve, collect, and organize evidence of discrimination–particularly electronic evidence, at all stages of a case.
Scott is an employment and labor lawyer who defends and advises employers.
