The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection interviewed 12 applicants for Department C at the Eighth Judicial District Court’s Family Division on March 30, 2023. The commission selected three names from the ballot to submit to Governor Joe Lombardo after three rounds.

These nominees are listed alphabetically:

Five vacancies at the Eighth Judicial District Court were created in November 2022. They are located in Departments 7, 29 and C. N.

Nevada lawyers at least 25 years of age, 10 years of legal experience and two years Nevada legal practice or residency are eligible to apply.

Governor Lombardo has thirty days to choose from the names of the nominees provided by the commission. This must be done by April 29, 2023. The appointed judge must file as a candidate for the November 2024 general elections to serve the entire term. All current terms for Nevada’s district court judges expire on January 4, 2027.
