“Kimberly has been a dear friend and ally for many years,” Trump shared on social media. “Her vast experience in law, media, and politics, combined with her keen intellect, makes her exceptionally qualified to represent the United States and protect its interests overseas.” Guilfoyle spent over a decade at Fox News, where she co-hosted “The Five” and previously worked as a prosecutor. In a post on X, she expressed her “honor” in accepting the nomination. Her appointment continues a trend of individuals closely connected to the Trump family receiving roles in his upcoming administration.

Trump also appointed Charles Kushner, father of his son-in-law Jared Kushner, as ambassador to France, and Massad Boulos, Tiffany Trump’s father-in-law, for another position. Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, Trump’s daughter, were part of his first administration. Guilfoyle was subpoenaed and testified before the House committee looking into the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack by Trump supporters attempting to overturn the 2020 election results.
