On October 16, 2024, the Eighth Judicial District Court issued Administrative Order (AO) 24-08 to prepare for the possibility that actions pertaining to the election process may be filed during or after business hours on election day, November 5, 2024.
According to the order, any election-related matter that requires a hearing to take place after 5 p.m. on election day will be held virtually before one of the designated election day judges. Judges in Departments 5, 6, and 9 have been assigned to serve as election day judges.
The hearings will be held via Zoom, and the media and/or the public may watch. The Zoom meeting access information for each department is included in AO 24-08. In addition, the hearings will be livestreamed at the Eighth Judicial District Court’s website.
