Eighth Judicial District Court Issues Order Reassigning Cases, Establishing Med Mal Court, Changing Probate Procedures

The Eighth Judicial District Court issued amended administrative order (AO) 22-14 on December 30, 2022.

The order states that “The purpose” of the Administrative Order is to serve three purposes:

1. Primarily, the 2022 Nevada General Election resulted in several new District Court judges. Therefore, courtroom relocations and department caseloads will need to be reassigned.
2. The District Court determined, secondly, that the creation of a “Professional Negligence/Medical Malpractice Court”, (“Med Mal Court”), will increase efficiency.
3. For a more efficient case management, the procedures in probate matters have been clarified.
