The Nevada Supreme Court, on October 23, 2023 filed AdKT 0612 where the Hon. Jerry A. Wiese and the Honorable John A. McKinney, both Chief Judges of the Eighth Judicial District Court. Jacqueline M. Bluth is the Chairperson of Eighth Judicial District Court’s Rules Committee. She petitioned Nevada Supreme Court for adoption of proposed amendments to Rules of Practice of the Eighth Judicial District Court as set forth in exhibits A-F.
Eighth Judicial District Court asked its judicial officers to submit rule amendments and for volunteers to serve on its Rules Committee. The Rules Committee was composed of judicial officials from each division at the Eighth Judicial District Court. It also received proposals from judicial staff and court employees. Some rule proposals were presented to relevant bar sections and asked for their comments. The Eighth Judicial District Court Judges approved the proposed amendments at a meeting of all judges on June 14, 2023.
The attached exhibits contain the reasons for adopting, amending, or repealing certain rules, with red-lined versions of proposed new or modified rules.
