Former President Bill Clinton has been admitted to the hospital due to a fever.

Former President Bill Clinton is currently hospitalized in Washington, D.C., following the onset of a fever. At the age of 78, Mr. Clinton has been admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for “testing and observation.”

Angel UreƱa, the deputy chief of staff to the 42nd president, informed NBC News, that he is in “good spirits and appreciative of the care he is receiving.” A source close to Mr. Clinton indicated that the situation is “not urgent.” “The former president will be fine,” the source remarked. “He developed a fever and sought medical evaluation. He is awake and alert.” This year, Mr. Clinton has been actively campaigning in support of Vice President Kamala Harris and promoting his book, Citizen.

Having served two terms from January 1993 to January 2001, the former president also spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this summer. Since leaving office, Mr. Clinton has undergone two heart surgeries in New York, including a quadruple bypass in 2004 and the insertion of two stents in a coronary artery in 2010. In 2021, he spent six days in the hospital due to a urological infection that had spread to his bloodstream.
