Hogan Lovells Welcomes Prominent Litigators in D.C.
Hogan Lovells has expanded its litigation bench with the addition of four highly respected partners—Gary Orseck, William Trunk, Jennifer Windom, and Matthew Madden.
The group joins the firm’s Washington, D.C. office from Kramer Levin, where they built a reputation handling some of the most high-profile commercial litigation matters across industries including health care, finance, private equity, and professional services.
“We’re excited to welcome Gary, Bill, Jen, and Matt,” said Des Hogan, Global Practice Group Leader of Hogan Lovells’ Litigation, Arbitration and Employment group. “They bring deep experience in business-critical litigation and will strengthen what is already one of the top litigation practices in the country. With demand for our services at an all-time high, their arrival couldn’t be better timed.”
A Strategic Growth Move
This strategic move follows a record year for Hogan Lovells’ litigation practice. The addition of the team reinforces the firm’s commitment to serving clients facing high-stakes disputes and complex enforcement actions.
Adam K. Levin, Practice Area Leader for Litigation in the Americas, emphasized the long-standing respect between the teams:
“We’ve known Gary and his team for years. Their experience spans securities class actions, investor disputes, bankruptcy litigation, and enforcement matters. They fit seamlessly with our strengths in key sectors like life sciences, financial institutions, and private capital.”
Meet the New Partners
Gary Orseck
A seasoned trial lawyer, Mr. Orseck previously served as Chair of Kramer Levin’s Litigation Practice and Co-Managing Partner of its D.C. office. He’s led the defense in billion-dollar securities class actions and represented public health care giants, hedge funds, and global financial firms. Orseck also founded the elite litigation boutique Robbins, Russell, Englert, Orseck & Untereiner LLP and served at the U.S. Department of Justice.
“Hogan Lovells offers exactly what our clients need—a global reach, deep regulatory expertise, and a powerhouse litigation team,” said Orseck. “We’re excited to be here.”
William Trunk
Mr. Trunk brings a wide-ranging litigation portfolio, representing hedge funds, corporations, and financial institutions in complex disputes. He’s appeared in courts across the U.S., including appeals before the U.S. Supreme Court. His recent focus includes litigation tied to sophisticated financing deals and liability-management transactions.
Jennifer Windom
Ms. Windom, who co-led Kramer Levin’s Washington, D.C. office with Orseck and co-headed its Health Care Practice, regularly handles matters with overlapping civil, criminal, and regulatory exposure. Her work spans securities and shareholder litigation, government investigations, and enforcement cases involving health care, banking, and public contracting.

His clients include bondholders, creditors, and debtors navigating complex reorganizations. He also represents companies, boards, and professional firms in litigation tied to securities, auditing, and compliance issues.
