BOCA RATON (FL) – Jessica L. Underwood joined the South Florida office Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP (SSRGA), as an associate in its appellate division. She is an experienced appellate and litigation lawyer with experience in both state and federal courts.
Jessica worked as an assistant attorney general for two years with the Florida Office of the Attorney General, right before joining the firm. She represented Florida in all aspects of criminal appels.
Underwood began her legal career in Miami-Dade County as an assistant state attorney. She was a prosecutor for four year. She was responsible for hundreds of misdemeanors and felony cases, at all stages of litigation, including jury trials through intake. As the chief of litigation and assistant chief in the misdemeanor Domestic Violence Unit, she also trained and supervised over twenty prosecutors. She was responsible for handling criminal appeals from county to circuit during her time at Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
Underwood received a Bachelor in Business Administration in Marketing from The George Washington University in 2009. In 2016, Underwood received her Juris Doctorate in Marketing from The George Washington University.
She is an admitted member of the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit.
