MIAMI, FL–South Florida-based litigation firm Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine P.L. The firm continues to grow with the additions of two lawyers: Stephanie S. Khouri who focuses on complex commercial litigation and Michael J. Mariani who focuses his practice on complex financial, securities, and commercial litigation.

As more people and businesses settle in South Florida, the Firm is experiencing rapid growth. According to data from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, approximately 65,000 New Yorkers exchanged their driver’s licenses to Florida. New Jersey, California and Illinois set new records in outbound migration to Florida. California was also the most successful state in this regard, surpassing 30,000 Florida license transfer in 2022, which is the first time ever in history.

Prior to joining Kluger Kaplan Ms. Khouri was corporate counsel at a pharmaceutical company. She handled complex commercial litigation, personal injuries, class actions, employment law, and product liability issues. She was previously an associate in a full-service law firm, where she worked on cases involving cyber fraud, trademark infringement, contractual disputes, and other complicated litigation issues.

Ms. Khouri is a member of both the Florida and New York State Bars. She graduated cum laude at the University of Miami School of Law where she was the lead counsel for the UM Trial Team. Her B.S. in Communication was hers. She received her B.S. in Communication from Boston University. She was also a member and teacher of AmeriCorps Jumpstart.

Before joining Kluger Kaplan Mr. Mariani was a registered securities attorney in Tampa. He represented brokers, registered investment advisors and other persons in all phases FINRA arbitration relating customer disputes involving allegations such as unsuitability, violations federal securities laws, unauthorized trade, churning and overconcentration. In addition to advising individuals and businesses during investigations by the DOJ, SEC and CFTC, he also advised them in enforcement proceedings.

Mr. Mariani received his law degree cum-laude from University of Florida Levin College of Law. His B.A. was received by Mr. Mariani. Florida Atlantic University awarded Mr. Mariani a degree cum laude for Criminal Justice. He is a member of the Florida Bar and District of Columbia Bar.
