Kristin Cavallari Talks Fallout with Kelly Henderson Over Jay Cutler Affair Speculation.
Kristin Cavallari, 37, is still feeling hurt over how her friendship with her former best friend Kelly Henderson, 42, ended.
“I’ve really had one adult friendship with a woman that blew up in my face,” Cavallari shared this on the episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast that aired on Tuesday, November 19.
“I felt as though one of my best friends at the time, who was on the Very Cavallari show, I don’t think she ever had an affair with my ex-husband Jay Cutler. But the viewers of the show, season 2, were accusing them of having an affair.”
Kristin Cavallari stated that Henderson intensified the situation by taking advantage of the affair rumors, which left her feeling “uncomfortable.”
She explained: “I wrote her an email — you know it’s serious when it’s an email — and I was very careful about just saying, ‘Hey, here’s how your actions made me feel.’ I in no shape or form attacked or blamed her. It was just, ‘This is how I feel.’ And it blew up in my face.”
Kelly Henderson’s supposed response to the email signaled a turning point in their friendship with Cavallari. “My thing with friends is if we can’t have a conversation, like, ‘These are my feelings.’ And if you can’t respect my feelings and basically just turn it around on me, I can’t do anything with that,” she told to her listeners.
“When people come at it from the defense, I’m like, ‘How can you argue my emotion? You can’t argue with someone’s emotions. This is how you made me feel. I’m not wrong for that,” she continued.
“So, my point being, it’s really sad when adult women can’t meet you in the middle like that and have your back and do something that disrespects you and make you feel really s—-y But it happens.” Kristin Cavallari mentioned that the most beneficial choice for her was to let go and move forward.
“Instead of being so down about it, it’s like, ‘OK, well, you know what? ‘I enjoyed the years that we had together. I’ve learned a lot from this relationship, as well,’ and you have to just let it go and you have to just move on from it, unfortunately, and be thankful for the time that you had together,” Kristin Cavallari said.
Viewers of Very Cavallari might remember Cavallari discussing her fallout with Henderson regarding the unfounded affair rumors during the season 3 premiere in January 2020.
“It wasn’t the actual accusations of them having an affair that made me upset, it was how Kelly went about it,” she said during the episode, criticizing Henderson for not publicly denying the speculation and accusing her of user Jay Cutler, 41, for “her own personal gain.”
Kelly Henderson stated that she and Cutler never had a romantic relationship and later claimed that Cavallari was exaggerating the situation for the sake of a Very Cavallari storyline.
“I think that’s interesting that after she said all of the stuff that she said about me on national television and things that were not true, that she expected me to reach out. At that point, I felt extremely betrayed and not like we were friends,” She mentioned it during her October 2020 guest spot on The Domenick Nati Show.
“I probably didn’t reach out either because I was getting so blown up by tabloids because of what she put in people’s minds about an affair that was not ever true, nor did it happen. So yeah, I wasn’t very happy with her. It didn’t feel like the right thing for me to reach out. I was not in a place to do that.” Henderson added.
