Mayer Brown advise Blackstone on AirTrunk acquisition.

Mayer Brown acted as Hong Kong legal counsel to Blackstone and the consortium of buyers formed with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board on the acquisition of AirTrunk, a prominent data center operator in Asia. The transaction was valued at an implied enterprise value of A$24 billion (US$16.1 billion), with Mayer Brown collaborating with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett to finalize the deal. This acquisition marks Blackstone’s largest investment in the Asia Pacific region to date.

The Hong Kong-based Mayer Brown team was led by Real Estate partners Eugene Wong and Peter Ho, with support from associate Ronnie Chan. The team also included Real Estate partner Jasmine Chiu and associate Stephanie Bow; IP&TMT partner Gabriela Kennedy and associates Joshua Woo and Grace Wong; Construction partner Jason Leung and associate Emily Lo; and Employment partner Jennifer Tam and associate Vanessa Lo.

AirTrunk is the largest data center platform in the Asia Pacific region, with facilities across Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. It has more than 800MW of capacity for its clients and owns land that can accommodate more than 1GW of future expansion across the region.
