CHARLOTTE NC — In honor of the United Nations World Day Against Trafficking in Persons (UNWTOTP), Moore & Van Allen PLLC is proud to announce the Human Trafficking Pro Bono Project has created an online financial wellbeing tool for survivors of human trafficking in collaboration with Lexington Law and Credit.com.
Traffickers exploit many human trafficking victims financially. Traffickers can require victims to sign for car leases, open bank accounts, and use credit cards. The physical abuse of trafficking may be over, but the financial instability, exclusion and delinquent status of the victim’s credit can hinder recovery for many years.
MVA’s pro bono service was expanded to include credit repair and safe banking for survivors. MVA launched today a new suite of services aimed at improving the financial stability for survivors via an online financial literacy tool. This multi-module website is designed to help survivors rebuild their credit after a bad experience and achieve sustainable financial wellness.
