Sister Wives’ Mykelti Brown Suggests Meri Abused Kody Physically, Verbally.

Christine Brown’s daughter, Mykelti Padron, recently hinted that her father, Kody Brown, may have faced both physical and verbal abuse from Meri Brown during their marriage. In a recent Q&A video, Mykelti, 28, responded to a YouTuber’s speculation about Meri’s potential abusive behavior towards Kody.

“I’m not saying anything,” she remarked after pretending to be shocked. “Anything I say could get me in trouble. But if you’re thinking it, and others are too, you might be onto something. That’s all I’ll say. I know there are many YouTubers watching, and I’d rather avoid any drama.” This isn’t the first time Mykelti has addressed the allegations regarding Meri’s treatment of Kody and the 18 children he shares with Christine, Janelle, and Robyn.

In a Patreon video from January 2023, Mykelti shared her personal views on Meri, stating, “I don’t want to undermine my siblings’ experiences with her. I don’t recall Meri being physically abusive towards me, but she was emotionally and verbally harsh with all of us when we were younger.” She noted that the alleged abusive behavior seemed to diminish as the children grew older and could stand up for themselves. “I honestly think I bore the brunt of it,” she added. “My siblings have told me they believe I experienced the worst of her treatment, but we all felt the impact.”

Mykelti later expressed that Meri would “not, nor will she ever be, part of my life or my husband’s or my children’s lives due to the trauma I faced during my childhood.” She has three children with her husband, Antonio “Tony” Padron. “I don’t believe [Meri] is a bad person, but I wouldn’t say she’s particularly kind either,” Mykelti remarked, adding that she genuinely wishes Meri “the best.” Mykelti made these comments following allegations from Christine and Kody’s son, Paedon Brown, who claimed in an interview with John Yates that Meri’s abusive behavior “went far beyond verbal. Verbal basically ceased to exist.”

Christine and Kody’s daughter, Gwendlyn Brown, also mentioned in a January 2023 Patreon video, “[Meri] was intimidating as a child, but she never physically attacked me, and I only witnessed her being violent once. That was a long time ago.” Meri has not responded to the allegations of abuse.

She and Kody announced their separation in January 2023 after over 30 years together. “In light of a recent unapproved press release, we feel it’s important to share our own truth, in our own way and at our own pace,” they stated in a joint Instagram post. “After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have decided to permanently end our marriage.”

During the episode of Sister Wives that aired on Sunday, November 24, Kody referred to Meri as his “favorite ex-wife.” “Alright, Meri, it’s the end of an era,” said the founder of Brown Family Entertainment as he assisted his ex in moving into her new home in Utah. “It was a wonderful journey, but I’m not going to let it bring me down.”

He went on to say, “I’m reflecting on my life, and it doesn’t feel completely turned upside down, but it does feel like everything we had… we shared something meaningful.

It seems like it all just fell apart, one thing after another. But that’s alright. I’m not feeling bitter or angry anymore. I’m really happy that we managed to sort things out. I’m grateful we can still be friends, and I truly appreciate you as my favorite ex-wife. It’s such a strange situation to be in. It’s a bit heartbreaking, in a way. I love my current life, but it’s so different from what I had three years ago, you know? It feels like everyone else just decided, ‘This isn’t important.”

The abuse allegations against Meri Brown highlight longstanding tensions within the Sister Wives family. Testimonies from Mykelti Padron and other siblings suggest emotional and verbal mistreatment during their childhood, with some claiming incidents of physical abuse.

While Meri has not publicly addressed these claims, her separation from Kody Brown in 2023 and strained relationships with the children reflect the ongoing fallout. Mykelti’s decision to exclude Meri from her life underscores the lasting impact of these experiences. As the family continues to navigate their complex dynamics, the allegations serve as a reminder of the deep challenges faced behind the scenes.
