MIAMI, TAMPA, FL-Weiss Serota Helfman Cole + Bierman (WSHC+B), has named Marlon and Sarah Johnston as new partners in its Miami and Tampa offices. Before being promoted, both attorneys were previously Of Counsel at WSHC+B.
Hill is based in Miami and advises business owners about all aspects of structuring and starting businesses, as well as not-for profit organizations. This includes drafting contracts and securing intellectual properties, particularly in the entertainment, tourism, and media industries.
Hill, a civic and community leader, has held many positions in South Florida, particularly within the African-American, Caribbean-American, and Caribbean-American communities. He is currently a member of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and Miami Parking Authority. Hill is also an active member of Orange Bowl Committee. Hill was recently a member on the board of directors of The Miami Foundation, Miami Book Fair International.
Johnston is based in Tampa and has extensive experience representing municipalities in matters such as procurement, land use, zoning, public finances, real estate, Public/Private Partnerships, Community Redevelopment Agencies, and legislative issues. Johnston’s diverse experience allows her to understand the needs of the public sector, which is evident in her collaborative approach when working with clients.
Johnston was also appointed as the Town Attorney for Kenneth City in October 2022. She acts as counsel for the Mayor, Town Council, and staff of the Town, which is in southern Pinellas County.
